Downloading and Building
- Download CD/DVD ISO image

The preferred way of downloading the large files is using torrents.
You can use BitTorrent or Java based Azureus clients.
For Windows operating system you can also use BitComet client.
If you prefer not to use torrents, you can just click on http or ftp link and download the file using your web browser.
- Burn downloaded ISO image

Depending on your current operating system you have different options:
Under Linux you can use k3b which usually ships with KDE.
If you use GNOME, then more likely you have nautilus-cd-burner installed.
There are also plenty of command line utilities available such as: cdrecord. Please use man cdrecord for information about command line parameters
Under Windows you can use ISO Recorder
Nero will also do the job.
Graphics
- Change Video Resolution

- Locate file /etc/asperix/xorg-prefs.xml
- Locate "monitors" tag
- Edit "mode" attribute
- Using GUI asperix-control-panel
- Run asperix-control-panel
- Select 'graphics'
- Select the desired resolution
Booting
- Booting from CD/DVD

Your BIOS has to have ability to boot from CD or DVD. Almost all modern personal computers come with CD booting capabilities. You have to run BIOS setup to enable booting from CD and set the first booting device to CD. Please check the documentation for your particular BIOS.
- Booting from USB

Booting from USB drive can be a little bit tricky. First, your BIOS has to support booting from USB. Some BIOSes recognize USB storage device as separate device, some recognize as regular hard drive. In any case, you have to set the booting priority. Second, your USB device has to "behave" good. Some USB devices work properly as just a storage, but start failing if you try to boot something like Linux from them. The recommended practice is trying several devices of several manufacturers and selecting the best.
